Aston Martin is proud to announce the ultra-exclusive track-focused, road-legal special edition “Valiant”, which is the latest in a long line of remarkable projects skillfully handled by Aston Martin's in-house bespoke division, Q.
Powered by a 745PS Twin Turbo 5.2-litre V12 and mated to a six-speed manual transmission, it embodies the company’s commitment to producing pure driver’s cars. The production of this car is limited to just 38 cars globally.
Valiant was originally envisioned as a personal commission by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver, Fernando Alonso, in order to build something lightweight, more extreme, race car inspired version of the Aston Martin Valour.
The Valiant was born in the Q division following the inspiration from Fernando’s 23-year career in Formula 1 and his passion for pushing driving to the limit. This car upholds a strong lineage of Aston Martins’ intensity both on-road and on-track, and it joins the ranks of the ultimate hypercar Valkyrie, the Vantage, and its sibling in speed, the Vantage GT3.
The Valiant blends the raw style and blistering performance of a bygone era of powerful V12 engines with cutting-edge engineering, lightweight materials, and stunning design so it can push the boundaries of performance and engagement.
The Aston Martin Valiant has been engineered to perform at its peak on the track while remaining fully homologated for road use, which is why this car features standard-fit Carbon Ceramic brakes for immense fade-free stopping power.
The Valiant incorporates several unique engineering highlights designed to reduce weight and fine-tune the chassis for serious track use, and the most significant change in character comes from the installation of Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers, as they can simultaneously adjust each one to one of thirty-two distinct damper curves in less than six milliseconds.
To make use of the increased limits of the new suspension set-up and greater aerodynamic downforce, the Driving Modes (Sport, Sport+ and Track) have been revised to help the driver in exploring the car’s full performance.
The Valiant’s dramatic bodywork makes a bold statement of intent. With extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber, its evocative profile speaks of a truly heavyweight punch.
Valiant’s deep front splitter helps to slice through the air with maximum effectiveness, while distinctive multi-layer end planes are crafted to guide airflow around the front wheels.
Amongst the most distinctive functional features includes the deeply scalloped side fenders and carbon fiber aero discs mounted on the 21-inch magnesium wheels.
The rear-end design is equally dramatic, crafted to balance the downforce enhancements achieved by the front splitter and styled to underscore the Valiant’s formidable performance capabilities, and completing the aerodynamic package is the functional rear diffuser, which also serves to perfectly frame Valiant’s spectacular quad exit, titanium exhaust system.
Just like the exterior, the Valiant’s brilliant combination of race-bred functionality and the immaculate design flourishes on the inside as well, where the extensive use of exposed satin-finish carbon fiber in the two-seat cockpit targets the passengers’ comfort and the overall weight of the car.
To emphasize the mechanical nature of the manual gearbox, the focus of development has been on refining the weight and tactile feedback of the gearshift, and this includes a new custom spherical gear knob and H-pattern shifting to enhance both effort and precision in gear changes.
With the Valiant being a track-use car, the passengers’ comfort and safety are paramount. So we will find a built-in half-cage with anchor point to allow 4-point race harnesses to be fitted, and a bespoke trimmed Recaro Podium seats that provide exceptional lateral and shoulder support.
While deliveries are due to start in Q4 of 2024, the Valiant will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed July 11th to 14th. Fernando Alonso, two-time Formula One World Champion and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver will be the Valiant’s first customer and will demonstrate the car’s capabilities at the festival.
