First 2022 Formula1 Car Breaks Cover As HAAS Unveils VF-22

Haas becomes the first American race team to reveal images of its 2022 Formula 1 car, showing off digital renders of the new VF-22 on Friday, 4^th of February 2022. VF-22 is a brand new and fully redesigned car for this formula 1 upcoming season owns a completely new set of aerodynamic regulations.

The VF-22 was designed and manufactured at the team’s all-new design office in Maranello, Italy, under the direct supervision of Technical Director Simone Resta.

VF-22 power comes from a turbocharged 1.6-liter Ferrari V6 engine, running on fuel containing a 10% bio-component ratio, achieved through a switch to E10 fuel.

As previous digital renders showed, the VF-22's aerodynamics are markedly different from its predecessor, the new design features:

•  ground-effect floor
• simplified front wing
• different rear wing
• Pirelli’s new 18-inch wheel rims
• low-profile tires (to reduce overheating and in turn allow drivers to push more on each stint)

The all-new race Hass Car, the VF-22 is featured with a low nose cone design, It’s so good to see this design back! Due we haven’t seen this on a Formula 1 car in several decades, ever since teams realized that by raising the nose, they could increase the volume of air able to pass underneath the car.

Haas team kept the same car livery, mostly white with the colors of Red & Blue in deference to their title sponsor Uralkali.

Nevertheless, Gunther Steiner, the Team Principal, was clear that the renders show VF-22 in an earlier phase of the development, with more to come when the VF-22 hits the track for the first time at Barcelona.

Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, will have the opportunity to drive in the first pre-season testing in Barcelona from 23-25^th February, before moving to Bahrain for the second test between 10-12^th March this year.

“It’s exciting to be at the point where we know the VF-22 will be on track shortly,” said team principal Guenther Steiner. “It’s been a tremendous effort by everyone involved and now comes the fun part of getting the new car to the circuit and dialing in all the elements. Last season was a long one but I’m confident that 2022 will see us back in the mix with the VF-22.” He added.

It's worth noting that Jeddah Corniche Formula 1 circuit , which is the world's second-longest and fastest street circuit, will return to challenge top drivers to their limits once more. The second round of the Formula One World Championship will take place on 25-27^th of March, with competitors racing at super speeds exceeding 252 km/h under the floodlights on the 27-turn course.
