Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 2026: Specs, Grades & Price in the Middle East

Toyota has revealed the all-new Land Cruiser FJ for the Middle East, adding a fresh member to the storied Land Cruiser lineup and putting the nameplate's renowned toughness and adventurous character within reach of a much wider customer base.

Sitting alongside the Land Cruiser 300, Land Cruiser 70, and Land Cruiser Prado, the FJ was built around a "Freedom & Joy" concept, pairing the durability and off-road prowess Land Cruiser has been known for across generations with a smaller, easier-to-live-with footprint — giving drivers from all walks of life greater freedom to roam and a broader range of experiences to enjoy.

Since the original Toyota BJ debuted in 1951, Land Cruiser has kept evolving through real-world testing in some of the planet's toughest conditions, always guided by the same purpose: getting people wherever they need to go and bringing them home safely. With roughly 12.4 million units sold across more than 190 countries and regions, the model has become woven into people's daily lives and livelihoods worldwide, a reputation earned by listening to customers and refining the vehicle around their actual experiences.

The FJ carries that same philosophy forward in a new shape, broadening the Land Cruiser range with a model that keeps the nameplate's core identity intact while adding sharper agility, more practical proportions, and a genuinely fun character. In line with Toyota's "TO YOU" philosophy, Land Cruiser will keep adapting to shifting customer and societal needs while staying a vehicle people can rely on.

On the launch

Masaya Uchiyama, Toyota Motor Corporation's Chief Engineer for Land Cruiser, said the aim was to build a vehicle that stays trustworthy for a wide range of customers by going back to the "FJ40 = CORE" concept, while also encouraging people to get more enjoyment out of life. He described the FJ as a "core" Land Cruiser that delivers freedom and joy across many different lifestyles.

He added that giving drivers genuine Land Cruiser off-road capability lets them go wherever they want, however they live, while also enjoying the vehicle on their own terms. As customer needs grow more varied and change faster, he noted, simply piling on more specs and features isn't enough anymore — so the team focused on a simple design accessible to more people, turning the vehicle into a kind of blank canvas for self-expression.

Grades

The Land Cruiser FJ will launch in the Middle East in two grades, Mid and High, letting customers pick the version that fits their preferences and how they plan to use it — while both grades share the same core reliability, durability, and off-road capability.

Body and chassis

The wheelbase has been shortened and braces added beneath the floor to boost lateral rigidity. The body structure uses strong, lightweight high-tensile steel, and extra spot welding under the floor improves vibration damping together improving ride comfort without giving up the structural strength and stability Land Cruiser is known for.

At 2,580 mm, the FJ's wheelbase is 270 mm shorter than the Prado's, helping deliver a minimum turning radius of 5.5 meters for easier maneuvering in cities, on narrow trails, and over more technical terrain. Despite the smaller footprint, the vehicle keeps the geometry and mobility needed for real off-road performance: ground clearance and approach/departure angles are engineered for confident progress over tough surfaces, and wheel articulation matching the Land Cruiser 70 series keeps tires planted on uneven ground.

Powertrain

A naturally aspirated 2.7-liter petrol engine powers the FJ, producing 120 kW (163 PS) and 246 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed Super ECT automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

Suspension and off-road systems

The suspension is tuned to balance off-road ability with on-road comfort and stability, using a high-mount double-wishbone setup up front and a four-link rigid rear axle with a lateral rod for dependable wheel control across all kinds of terrain.

A suite of driving aids adds further support off-road: Downhill Assist Control keeps descents steady on steep slopes without locking the wheels, Hill Start Assist Control limits rollback when pulling away on an incline, and an electronic rear differential lock boosts traction by helping the rear wheels turn together when extra grip is needed.

Exterior design

The FJ's exterior and interior blend Land Cruiser's functional heritage with a more playful, modern look. It keeps the traditional boxy cabin shape — valued for passenger space, visibility, and cargo room, while adding a leaner, more cohesive silhouette with a dice-inspired motif and precisely chamfered edges.

Measuring 4,575 mm long and 1,855 mm wide, the FJ has compact proportions, and its rectangular shape and defined corners make it easier to maneuver in tight spots or position on uneven ground. Sturdy bumpers and flared wheel arches front and rear give it a planted, confident stance, all wrapped into a clean, tightly styled body.

Distinctive U-shaped headlights and taillights give the FJ an instantly recognizable face, with functional elements integrated up front for a sharp look, and a lowered beltline along the sides that improves visibility of the road surface nearby.

A Toyota badge and rear-mounted spare wheel nod to earlier Land Cruiser models, tying the newcomer to the nameplate's long history. Roof rails offer a practical way to carry outdoor gear and longer items, side steps make getting in and out easier, and a front skid plate shields the engine and transmission during off-road driving.

Five monotone exterior colors are available — White Pearl, Ash, Black, Bronze, and Smoky Blue, each chosen to suit the FJ's simple, functional, adventure-ready look. The Mid grade rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, while High grade gets larger 18-inch alloys.

Interior

The two-row cabin seats five and is built around simple controls, strong visibility, and everyday usability. The 6:4-split second-row seats slide, recline, and fold to suit different passenger and cargo combinations, with seatback panels creating a flatter load surface when folded down.

With the second row in place, luggage capacity is 795 liters, with a minimum load length of 735 mm and height of 1,030 mm. Folding the rear seats expands that to 1,607 liters and stretches load length to as much as 1,480 mm — enough room for work gear, travel luggage, or outdoor equipment.

A horizontal instrument panel helps the driver gauge the vehicle's angle on uneven terrain, while displays and switches are grouped together to cut down on unnecessary eye movement, and the shift lever sits in a natural, intuitive position. A low-set cowl and instrument panel also support excellent forward visibility on both paved roads and rough terrain.

Safety and technology

The High grade comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, including a Pre-Collision Safety System that helps spot potential hazards and can assist in avoiding or softening a collision, plus Lane Departure Alert to flag unintended drifting out of the lane.

High grade also adds a Panoramic View Monitor for extra visibility around the vehicle when maneuvering in tight spaces, and a Blind Spot Monitor to flag vehicles in hard-to-see areas around the car, together making city, highway, and off-road driving feel more reassuring.

Both Mid and High grades get a 12.3-inch display audio system with a clear, easy-to-use interface for core multimedia functions, built into the cockpit layout without compromising visibility or usability.

The all-new Land Cruiser FJ's Middle East launch extends one of Toyota's most recognizable vehicle families with a model that stays true to its roots while opening up new ways to enjoy it. its more approachable size and agile character letting a wider range of drivers experience the capability and confidence the Land Cruiser name is known for. In addition to this, you can check out the latest car news by visiting Motory Cars News section.
